The 2019 Toyota Avalon joined a long list of 2019 models that made their debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. While the new sedan model isn’t going to have a complete revamp for 2019, there will be a handful of exciting changes including some features that are a first for Toyota. Check out what we think are the 3 most exciting changes for the 2019 Toyota Avalon below.
3 Exciting Changes for the 2019 Toyota Avalon
Introduction of Apple CarPlay
One of the largest announcements about the 2019 Avalon is that it will feature the inclusion of the Apple CarPlay system that Toyota has notoriously not included in its lineup up until this point. With most other car brands now offering Apple CarPlay on their models, it was a system that was sorely missed on Toyota vehicles by many car shoppers. The 2019 Toyota Avalon will also be compatible with the Amazon Alexa system.
LED Lighting Upgrades
One of our favorite additions to the 2019 Avalon exterior is the available Adaptive LED Cornering Lamps and available Dynamic Auxiliary Turn Signals. The LED Cornering Lamps provide more side visibility when rounding corners or changing lanes and the Dynamic Auxiliary Turn Signals make the vehicle more visible at night thanks to a sequential lighting pattern. Both of these LED lighting features are brand new for Toyota.
New Platform and Powertrains
The 2019 Avalon will sit on the same TNGA platform as the 2018 Toyota Camry. The platform is equipped with a Multi-Link Rear Suspension or an available Adaptive Variable Suspension. That, along with a new V6 engine for traditional models and a new hybrid powertrain for hybrid configurations, helps to make the 2019 Toyota Avalon more powerful and performance-focused than ever before.
