The 2017 Toyota 86 is packing a 2.0L boxer-four engine under the hood, which outputs 205 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque — an upgrade of 5 hp and 5 lb-ft over the FR-S — when powered with the manual transmission. Some small changes have been made here and there to improve its performance in other ways, including some gear ratios, new shock tuning and spring rates for better handling, and a convenient hill start assist control.
And finally, you might also notice some slight appearance changes when looking closely at the Toyota 86. The new 2017 Toyota 86 is more aggressive with a new bumper and larger intake. The headlamps have also been upgraded to LED units, which both improves appearance and is more practical. You’ll also find a few interior differences between the Toyota 86 and Scion FR-S, including some new dashboard and door materials, and silver stitching for some added style.
