Simply Southern Smoke-Out

Get your Memorial Day weekend started off on the right foot at WindRiver’s Simply Southern Smoke-Out complete with live music by The Matthew Hickey Band and tasty southern barbeque creations from the chefs of the Citico restaurant. Tickets for the event are $35 and include the entertainment and food. A cash bar with drink specials like a Modelo Michelada for $6 will be available for purchase. Food selections include items like brown sugar brisket with house-made pickles, corn on the cob with garlic butter, grilled pineapple blondies, and more.
Ceremony at Knoxville National Cemetery

WHERE: Knoxville National Cemetery, Knoxville TN
The Memorial Day ceremony at the Knoxville National Cemetery will be held in front of the Union Soldiers Memorial and will include a presentation on the history of the monument as well as reenactments from historical figures like President Lincoln and First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln. After the ceremony, guests will be able to go inside the Union Soldiers Memorial monument free of charge.
Oak Ridge Community Band Concert

WHERE: A.K. Bissell Park, Oak Ridge TN
The Oak Ridge community band is kicking off their 2018 summer season with a free Memorial Day concert in the park. The concert will be a tribute to all men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and will include themed music. Concert guests should bring blankets and chairs to help them enjoy the music on the lawn. Razzleberry’s Ice Cream will be available for purchase.
