Many agree that hybrid vehicles are what they are today because of efforts made by Toyota, especially with its original Prius model. Nowadays, hybrid vehicles are much less expensive and much more efficient. But what do you do if you want a more fuel efficient hybrid but need more utility and space than what a car offers? Lucky for you, Toyota is also the maker of two highly capable hybrid SUVs. Take a look below to learn about the Toyota RAV4 and Highlander.
2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid in Knoxville
The 2017 RAV4 Hybrid model comes in at a starting MSRP of $29,030 and is rocking an efficiency rating of 34 City/30 Highway MPG. In addition to its fuel efficiency, the RAV4 is also plenty powerful with 194 horsepower, allowing it to tow up to 1,750 pounds. You can even equip the RAV4 with an all-wheel drive system to give you the traction you need, when you need it.
At the end of the day, the RAV4 Hybrid is just more of what you already love about the RAV4. It shares its exceptionally sporty style, LED lighting that improves both its looks and driver visibility, and a spacious interior that can hold either cargo or people.
2016 Toyota Highlander Hybrid in Knoxville
But what should you do if you need more space and seats than what is available in the RAV4? Thankfully, Toyota also offers the 2016 Highlander as a hybrid model. The Highlander Hybrid starts at $47,870 and has a 27 City/28 Highway fuel efficiency rating. That might not sound like hybrid MPG at first, but you have to keep in mind that not many hybrid vehicles are as large as the Highlander.
The Highlander Hybrid has seats for up to eight passengers, a 3,500 pound towing capacity thanks to its 3.5L V6 and total 280 horsepower, and plenty of new tech features and comfortable options.
Honorable Mention: 2017 Prius v
Technically the 2017 Prius v isn’t an SUV at all, but it does have utility that makes it worth mentioning. Its hatch allows for 34.3 cu.ft. of cargo space, which is great for when you need to move things that can’t fit in the trunk of a car.
