When it comes time to choose a new pickup, settling on the Toyota Tacoma is an easy choice. With a large lineup of models that range from practical to amenity-packed, the well-priced Toyota Tacoma lineup offers a variety of models that check off all of the boxes whether truck shoppers are looking for performance at a job site or capability on and off the streets.

Truck shoppers looking for a Toyota Tacoma may find themselves having to choose between the new 2019 Toyota Tacoma or the 2018 Toyota Tacoma at their local dealership. Most of the 2019 Tacoma lineup is unchanged from 2018, save for the TRD Pro trim that received significant updates. If the TRD Pro trim has caught your eye, we recommend looking at 2019 models. If not, the choice between model years can be made based on which Tacoma models are available at the dealership that fit your needs and budget.

2019 Tacoma Offers Updated TRD Pro Trim

While most of the trims and configurations in the 2019 Toyota Tacoma lineup are carryover versions of their 2018 Tacoma counterparts, the Tacoma TRD Pro trim has some significant changes for the new model year. Most notably is the addition of an available TRD Pro Desert Air Intake snorkel. Perfect for overlanding in desert climates or driving anywhere where dust is routinely kicked up, the Tacoma’s available Desert Air Intake snorkel filters air to the engine from above the vehicle where things are clear. Not only is it practical, but it also gives a completely fresh and head-turning look to the exterior of equipped 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro exteriors.

In addition to the available Desert Air Intake, 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro models equipped with automatic transmission will come standard with a JBL Premium Audio system and all 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro models regardless of their transmission systems will come standard with a moonroof bringing added comfort to the lineup.
